Following the Dec. 31 announcement that fleet battles were on track for March, I've joined a fleet of players whom I respect and expect to have lots of fun cooperating with. With one of my many captains, anyway. Manual Fleet is still open to players determined to win using NF2's manual FCS. I have some questions for any NF2 GMs listening. I'd normally submit a ticket but the answers may be helpful to everyone:

Despite reaching NF1's endgame ships I never got the chance to participate in a fleet battle or harbour assault. But I imagine a fleet battle is essentially a normal battle with more coordination and preparation. Since NF2's matchmaking system randomizes the player matchups and starting locations, will a new system be put into place so you can choose whether you spawn in the front or rear of your fleet at the start of battle? That is, how much control will we have over the battle conditions, such as choosing the map, spawn locations, and perhaps disabling random weather effects?

Are there any teaser screenshots you can show us to assuage our curiosity?

Are Fleet Battles still on track for a March release?
